Building Wood Wharf for Canary Wharf

  • Project - A1 Building Wood Wharf (the circular one)
  • Client - Canary Wharf Group
  • Executive Architects - Adamson
  • Main Contractor - Canary Wharf Contractors
  • Wood Flooring Supplier - The Solid Wood Flooring Company

We developed two engineered wood floors for the above project and advised on the subfloor build up and installation to ensure a trouble free fit out. This project will follow on from Newfoundland Tower at Wood Wharf and we are currently supplying the engineered flooring for the marketing suites at level 31 Canada Square for the A1 buidling at Wood Wharf.

The products they have chosen were initially designed by Goddard Littlefair and we worked with the designers to create two unique pallets for the 1 bed and two bed apartments. This is a new product and we do not have fitted pictures yet, but the images show one carton laid out. The two wood floor product codes are TW E731 and TW E753. These boards were similar to some of our antique and herringbone colours but the designers wanted a slightly different hue to the colour. You can see with one of the images how we control batches and colours. The TW E731 was based on our antique board but they wanted it light brushed with a matt UV oil finish rather than a lacquer.

This case study shows how flexible we are and that we can accommodate any requirement where clients are looking for unique floors.

We will update this case study as work progresses.

You can see our American Black Walnut floor here which is on level 31 in the main reception areas leading to the marketing suites.
