Novus wins £3m contract with Stafford and Rural Homes

Refurbishment specialist Novus Property Solutions remains robust in the social housing market, having won a £3 million contract to carry out the complete external facelift and reroofing of seven apartment blocks owned by social landlord Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH).

Stoke-on-Trent-based Novus will work in partnership with Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) to apply brick cladding, architectural cladding and insulated render to seven blocks on Exeter Street, in Stafford, to improve the aesthetics of the housing stock and enhance the street scene.

Roofing works will also be completed by the Novus team, while new balustrades will be installed on communal staircases. Electrical and drainage work will be carried out, with Novus also undertaking extensive landscaping works to improve the local environment.

Novus, which has more than 30 offices across the UK, will commence work in June this year and the refurbishment is expected to be completed by May 2015.

Alan Nixon, director at Novus, said: “Securing this partnership with Stafford and Rural Homes has further cemented our reputation as a go-to contractor for refurbishment services across the UK. We look forward to working alongside Stafford and Rural Homes to improve the quality of its housing stock, and to linking up with the local community to deliver excellent results all-round.”

Chris Poulton, Director of Asset Management and Development, Stafford and Rural Homes added, “Stafford and Rural Homes were extremely keen to appoint a local contractor for this project, therefore I am delighted we are working with Novus Property Solutions who are not only local but also an award winning business.

“Exeter Street is the latest phase of our Total Place Project which will significantly improve 336 properties across the Penkside community. The feedback we have had from customers who have already benefited from the improvement works has been extremely positive, therefore, I look forward to the work being completed on Exeter Street.”
