Premium windows and doors manufacturers Blac
k Millwork and Andersen Windows have supplied a range of their products to a stunning new-build development in Roehampton, London, helping developers achieve a high-end aesthetic and guaranteeing strong performance values.
With the average house price in London more than double that of the rest of the country, buyers are beginning to expect a higher level of finish when purchasing property in the capital.
This was the case at Roehampton, a project that comprised of two homes with a combined value of £11 million. Work on the 12,000 square foot development began in June 2014 and took two years to complete.
For Harepath LLP, the company tasked with leading the project, this meant procuring building materials that provided high-quality performance specifications as well as a luxurious aesthetic. With such an extensive range of windows and doors available, Black Millwork and Andersen Windows were the ideal choice for this installation. Harepath LLP is a niche property developer operating in South West London. With a combined business experience of over 30 years, the company understands how to guarantee flair, innovation and top quality design and finish to every project.
Speaking on the project, Chris Ackley, Member at Harepath LLP, commented: “During the last five years we’ve witnessed unprecedented demand for property in London, which has led to a large spike in prices. With people paying more to live in the capital there’s been an increase in expectations. As such it has become paramount to only use premium-building materials. Black Millwork and Andersen’s products represent just this, they satisfy the two major criteria: strong performance specs and high-end aesthetics. The company was a pleasure to work with and we’ll be looking to use their products again.”
Across two houses, the developers have installed sets of Andersen 400 series Woodwright sliding sash windows, Andersen French Doors and Black Millwork external doors. The Andersen 400 series is one of the company’s most popular series, providing a blend of performance and style to satisfy the wants and needs of homebuyers in London.
The windows have extremely narrow joining kits between them, which allowed the developers to create a modern design with lots of glass and very slim frames. What’s more, the windows come with self-cleaning glass as standard, keeping the surface free of dirt and grime reducing the need for constant maintenance.
Gary Hutton, General Manager at Black Millwork commented: “We’ve worked on numerous high-end properties across London but this was very special. The developers have designed two properties, which resonate opulence and class.
"To see a range of Black Millwork and Andersen’s windows and doors installed is a great fit. We pride ourselves on finding the balance between style and performance and that’s what the modern homebuyer is so desperately searching for.”
