Yale launches a fully reversible window hinge

The Yale Revolution Window Hinge is the only hinge in the industry to offer this dual function and is the ideal choice for reversible upper floor windows in multi-occupancy social housing developments.

Thanks to its unique patented dual closing function, the hinge can be switched at installation between anti-blowback and easy close functions depending on specification and housing requirements. Onsite configuration allows for increased flexibility across housing associations with multiple building types and also helps reduce time and costs associated with returns or contractors carrying high levels of stock.

This avoids the risk of the window being opened suddenly. A safety key locks the window in the desired position – outer ventilation, easy clean or safety position – to minimise the risk of injury from falling through the window.”

The Revolution hinge is available in 27 sizes, ensuring a truly comprehensive range that can accommodate sash heights ranging from 300 to 1,780mm and can also form part of a PAS 24 window set.

The newly developed Revolution hinge is made in the UK, and is compatible with all three main window types; PVCu, timber and aluminium.
