A comedy TV producer, a neuroscientist and the housing minister are among the guest speakers at the National Housing Federation’s Annual Conference and Social Housing Exhibition.
John Lloyd - the man behind QI, Have I Got News For You, Blackadder, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Spitting Image - joins neuroscientist and entrepreneur Beau Lotto and Kris Hopkins MP on the bill at the conference.
The five promising young leaders shortlisted from the 24housing Young Leaders Awards 2014 will also present their ideas on how to end the housing crisis, and a broad range of workshops will help delegates tailor the experience to meet their needs.
Happening in Birmingham between 17-19 September, the conference, which is themed ‘Great ideas create change’, promises some of the most exciting debate the housing sector has seen this year.
The agenda is packed with hot topics including: governance, social enterprise, private rented sector, devolution and localism, profit for purpose and welfare reform.
Federation chief executive David Orr, who will kick off the conference by offering his bracing vision for housing and how we can work towards it, said: “The conference brings together a host of nationally acclaimed commentators and thinkers as well as introducing new talent in the form of the Young Leaders finalists. It is an opportunity to exchange opinions, skills and experience and to debate the housing landscape in a forum which aims to challenge and inspire.”
