As part of its commitment to offering renewable technology, Worcester, Bosch Group has improved its existing Greenskies Solar-Lito and Solar-Lito Mini collectors to offer installers wider installation flexibility.
Both products are now available as full sheet absorbers which means they are a continuous piece of material made from aluminium rather than welded copper strips – giving it a better quality look and feel.
Both the 1m2 (Solar-Lito Mini) and 2m2 collectors can be combined to combat awkward roof spaces and obstructions such as chimney breasts. They also have the added benefit of being more accurately sized to the hot water storage cylinder offerings under the Building Regulation guidance.
To explain this, the Building Services Compliance Guide requires a minimum water storage allowance of 25 litres for every M2 of solar panel surface area. Therefore being able to mix and match and choose 3 or 5 m2 of solar panel surface area rather than 4, 6 or 8 situation, which often happens, with the standard 2m2 panels allows a more precise matching of hot water storage to the house requirements.
In addition, the Solar-Lito and Solar-Lito Mini collectors now boast a blue Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD), which increases the absorption rate of the collector and reduces the emissivity, whilst also improving the aesthetics of the panel.
To assist those installers looking to take advantage of a complete solar solution, Worcester now offers its very own solar thermal design service. Worcester’s team of skilled designers will produce technical drawings and provide specification advice on the manufacturer’s entire range of solar thermal products, ensuring a perfect fit for the property.
Speaking of the latest addition, Martyn Bridges, Worcester’s director of sales and marketing, said: “The adaptions were made with both the installer and end user in mind. Using one-piece construction and a PVD coating, we have been able to optimise the absorption rate of each collector, allowing the homeowner to benefit from even greater efficiency levels.
“From the installer’s perspective, the solar collectors are equipped with simple push-fit connections, which allow quick and simple installation. Additionally the use of aluminium, rather than copper strips makes the units lighter, and ideal for those awkward spaces.
“The renewable sector is one area which will grow over the next few years as homeowners look for more efficient and sustainable ways to heat their homes. It is because of this that we have taken the decision to continuously improve our Greenskies range – offering installers even greater installation flexibility.”
