Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC) has awarded Anglian Building Products a two year term contract for the replacement of existing single glazed PVC-u windows with double glazed.
Worth approximately £2m, the contract is for buildings up to five storeys high and Anglian will begin work in the Cape Hill area of Smethwick, West Midlands.
Anglian Sales Director John Fairweather said ‘We are delighted to secure the contract with Sandwell MBC and we look forward to working in partnership with the council to deliver their home improvement programme.
Ian Jones, cabinet member for jobs and economy at Sandwell MBC said: “We are expecting that once this contract concludes in 2015, all remaining homes still having single glazed windows will have been replaced with modern and efficient double glazed windows”.
Sandwell MBC has committed to replacing all single glazed windows across their housing stock with double glazed windows by 2018.
