Leading roof system manufacturer, Marley is celebrating its 100-year anniversary.
Founded in 1924 by Owen Aisher, the company’s inception marked a crucial milestone in the evolution of the UK roofing industry, with the production of Marley’s very first concrete roof tiles beginning in a humble cowshed on Marley Farm in Kent.
However, it was the determination and entrepreneurial spirit of our founder’s son, Sir Owen Aisher that led Marley to national and international growth in the decades following the second world war.
A century later, 2024 sees Marley proudly celebrate 100 years of continuous development, market-leading product innovation, and technical expertise.
The intervening decades have seen Marley’s manufacturing facilities expand and product ranges extended from concrete to clay, together with a range of accessories, roofing batten and high performance underlay to deliver the most comprehensive pitched roof system on the market.
However, Marley’s commitment to innovation has not stood still. In recent years, the company introduced the UK’s first fully roof integrated solar PV panel, Marley SolarTile®. Today, the company’s solar roof system package is now complemented with a package of additional inverters, battery storage solutions, and an EV charging point to provide a complete renewable energy system, all available from a single trusted source.
