The Housing Forum’s Futures Network has been developed to increase the competence of sector professionals through collaboration opportunities, mentorships, research and forums.
The network brings together high-potential individuals from businesses and member organisations to drive professional growth to increase the quality of design, construction and maintenance of the UK’s housing stock.
With the Future Homes Standard set to be introduced in 2025, the network will support the supply chain in reaching government targets that require new homes to reduce carbon emissions by at least 75% through low-carbon heating systems and fabric standards.
To lead the charge, it has appointed Hayley Hayes, Head of Specification at Polypipe Building Products, a leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions, as the Chairperson of The Housing Forum’s Futures Network for the 2023-2024 cohort.
Hayley Hayes steps into the position with a wealth of experience and a proven track record of excellence. As Head of Specification, she plays an instrumental role in supporting housebuilders, developers and designers in the specification of sustainable, low-carbon, heating and plumbing solutions that will stand the test of time.
Hayes is also involved in steering the company towards achieving its strategic objectives through innovative specification solutions.
On her appointment, Hayley said: “This role as Chair is a huge privilege as it enables me to continue my involvement with The Housing Forum and support the Futures Network with their activities and projects. The role will also allow me to sit on The Housing Forum board and act as the link between them and the Futures Network.
“My experience with the Futures Network has not only allowed me to strengthen and extend my network, but it has also widened my knowledge of the housing industry. During my time with the Futures Network, I was involved in the creation of the ‘Route Map for New Homes’, which launched in July 2023, and is something that I feel underpins my appetite for success within the sector.
“I look forward to seeing what this year’s cohorts achieve and being able to play a part in the work that they achieve.”
