Have you heard about GreenCoat® from SSAB Swedish Steel?

Latest News Tue, May 25, 2021 10:07 AM

At SSAB, we’re proud of our innovative, high-strength steel, and GreenCoat® from SSAB Swedish Steel is no exception. It’s our sustainable colour coated steel solutions that gives roofs and façades high-quality aesthetics in every shape.

GreenCoat® is an excellent choice, not only aesthetically but also environmentally. Most GreenCoat® products feature a bio-based coating. This coating uses a substantial portion of Swedish rapeseed oil, not traditional fossil fuels, making it the current market’s greenest offer for roofs and façades. We’re proud that our unique, patented solution significantly reduces our environmental footprint.

SSAB Swedish Steel, together with Vattenfall and LKAB, launched the HYBRIT project. The aim of the HYBRIT project is to revolutionise the steel industry by producing completely fossil-free steel by 2026. This incredible goal is the world’s first steelmaking process that has water as the by-product instead of CO2.

GreenCoat® has many uses, from sinusoidal profiles and sandwich panels to tile profiles and standing seam systems. What’s more, GreenCoat® products also offer a long service life, with an up-to 50-year technical guarantee.

As well as these exceptional properties, GreenCoat® is also incredibly flexible to suit your project needs. It is available in over 400 vivid colours. Each of these colour-coated steels are durable, resistant to corrosion, scratches, and UV radiation. You can download our top 28 colours selected by architects in BIMobject.

It is this incredible design versatility that has seen GreenCoat® grow in popularity in architecture around the world. GreenCoat® has been used to help architects achieve design visions in building projects across the globe. You can find out more and see why architects are so proud of their GreenCoat® façade finishes here.

We would be delighted to discuss the benefits and properties of GreenCoat® steel with you.
