A world-leading financial giant’s plans to create a massive office complex in London will see Interflow supply a number of products, including an innovative bespoke solution.
The 843,922 sq ft campus will replace the Fleet Building and Plumtree Court and the Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates- designed scheme, which sits on a 4.2-acre City of London site, is targeting a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
As a result Interflow has been asked to supply a number of its market-leading solutions. The DOYMA Curaflex 3000 sleeves and DOYMA blind gaskets, will be joined by a series of manifold plates designed specifically for the ambitious campus development.
The selection of DOYMA products, installed by Interflow, was specified as the systems help prevent structural damage. Wherever service ducts are installed through walls, ceilings or floors, penetrating water, other liquids or humidity may cause damage to buildings, DOYMA duct sealing systems ensure professional and perfect sealing, thus presenting excellent preventative measures against structural damage.
The DOYMA Curaflex 3000 pipe sleeve has been specified. Benefits of the 3000 range sleeves, which are manufactured in a special fibrous cement having a coefficient of expansion which corresponds to that of concrete, include special grooving to the external face to ensure it homogeneously and securely connects to concrete plus the inside face of the sleeve provides an optimum contact surface for the elastomer of the Curaflex gasket insert. It forms a watertight bond with the concrete and is ideal for buildings without tanking membranes.
The company’s extensive range of solutions are the first choice for developers and specifiers across the UK and a selection of DOYMA products were specified for the scheme. The ability of DOYMA and Interflow to work closely with designers andspecifiers to create bespoke solutions for individual projects, such as the manifold plates used at the campus, was anotherkey consideration.
The campus will provide office space suitable for occupation by financial, legal, accountancy, or other professional tenants, including “flexible densities across all floors to create high quality, flexible office space suitable for a single tenant or multiple tenancies”.
The height of the development varies across the site, with the majority of the roof being 176ft, except for the south west corner which rises to 216ft in a curved design which starts as a base course at Shoe Lane and rises to the height of a full floor as the site slopes down, east to Farringdon Street. Interflow specialises in providing products and solutions designed to enhance, add value and increase sustainability across commercial and public sectors, thereby helping customers save energy and reduce their carbon footprint.
