EnviroVent, one of the UK’s leading ventilation designers and manufacturers, has reached a milestone by selling 1,300 ventilation units to Tees Valley-based Thirteen in just 13 months.
This latest milestone coincides with Thirteen confirming that EnviroVent has successfully secured a five-year agreement to provide both Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) systems and its Filterless Infinity Fans for its homes.
Thirteen carried out an in-depth ventilation review where it tested out a number of different ventilation systems and EnviroVent’s products were found to be the most effective. The landlord and developer also recognised that contracting with EnviroVent meant longer warranties on ventilation products, technical support and surveys all as part of the package.
EnviroVent will install PIV units or Infinity Fans on any properties that are having energy efficient upgrades, such as External Wall Insulation (EWI) schemes.
Jonathan Hodgeon, EnviroVent Ventilation Specialist, said: “We are delighted that we have been able to secure a further five year agreement with Thirteen. We have worked with the company for a number of years and, where there have been issues with condensation and mould growth, we’ve been able to provide effective solutions. Thirteen clearly recognises how installing new ventilation units needs to go hand in hand with carrying out energy efficient upgrades, which reduces the burden on their maintenance teams.”
By contracting with EnviroVent, Thirteen, which has a stock of around 34,000 properties, is taking a proactive approach to ventilation in order to protect residents’ health and the fabric of buildings.
The PIV units will be fitted in the central hallway or in the loft space, providing whole house ventilation. These units take advantage of the benefits of solar gain from within the loft space, which results in a relative saving of around 150 Watts per day in an average modern family home. This equates to approximately 10% of annual heating costs.
EnviroVent’s PIV loft mounted units help to redistribute heat around the home and thus reduce space heating costs. Where Filterless Infinity Fans are fitted, residents will benefit from excellent performance, low maintenance and whisper quiet running. These units are fitting individually in kitchens, bathrooms and other wet rooms.
Paul Kirton, Designer for Thirteen, said: “We’re pleased to be extending our agreement with EnviroVent, as part of improving air quality and eliminating condensation and mould growth in our properties. We were looking for a managed ventilation solution that would work for the long term and that offered low maintenance, which is exactly what we get with EnviroVent. We also wanted a solution that we could ‘fit and forget’ and where, if issues need resolving, the supplier would work in partnership with us to do this. EnviroVent provides us with a highly effective ventilation solution that meets our service level requirements.”
Thirteen will be taking advantage of EnviroVent’s extended warranty, which covers any maintenance and parts on the units for seven years.
Paul added: “We find EnviroVent offers excellent levels of customer service, with its technical team available if we have any queries. We monitor how the units are working and residents are happy as once an EnviroVent unit is fitted, they don’t normally experience any further issues with condensation or mould in their homes.”
