Weathering the storms with an approved cavity tray

Type G and Type X cavitrays have been selected in preference to alternatives to protect horizontal and sloping intersections on housing schemes in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The trays have won backing as they present a more robust solution and offer superior protection and integration, according to specifiers.

Manufacturer Cavity Trays Ltd is based in Yeovil, Somerset, and is the only UK tray company awarded European Technical Approval. Cavity Trays' approved products have a ‘high exposure’ rating eliminating the necessity to select a different model pending the site exposure conditions.

A company spokesperson explained that Type G and Type X cavitrays are regularly used in the UK as well as being exported. "We have models to suit both new and existing works and currently are supplying considerable quantities to remedy buildings that have suffered damp penetration during the recent storms," he said.

"Traditional methods and alternative proprietary systems that have not kept the structures dry are being removed and approved cavitrays installed in place. Approved cavity trays benefit from an accompanying performance warranty that appeals to architects, builders and clients."

Cavity Trays also reports sales of its Type E cavitrays are growing in response to demand for trays to remedy dampness where extensions and conservatories attach to an existing house.

Cavity Trays Ltd is pleased with the recent uptake of its warranted products and has announced that it has also secured orders to supply specialist insulated window and door reveal products for a major prefabricated housing contractor in Germany.

Cavity Trays Ltd is the longest established company in its specialised field and has a proven track record dating back to the 1920’s.
