When the Valleyfield Health Centre in Fife was undergoing a major refit, the highest standards of quality were crucial but time and budget were also of the essence. It made sense, therefore, for project contractors Elmwood to work with a product renowned for its valuable combination of hygiene, robust performance and aesthetics. DuPont™ Corian® was the surface of choice for the new sterilisation and decontamination units in five sites within the complex and the most effective solution for the installation proved to be ThermoLine post-formed worktops from CD UK.
Highly suited to healthcare environments, ThermoLine post-formed worktops made from Corian® are supplied as a sleek one-piece unit with a coved upstand and a non-drip edge detail already integrated during manufacture. This solution reduces the amount of fabrication necessary thereby cutting down on both time and cost, while the high-spec qualities of Corian® are unaffected. The homogenous solidity of the material – which is easy to clean and resistant to infectious agents and common healthcare chemicals – makes it ideal for hygiene-critical applications. Furthermore, Corian® is reliably hard-wearing but its seamless integrity can be restored if necessary, making it a wise investment in functional longevity.
ThermoLine worktops are designed to fit standard cabinetry and two or more sections can be seamlessly joined and sinks smoothly integrated in the normal way, making the product as adaptable as it is convenient and cost-effective. Various configurations have been fitted at Valleyfield, from single runs to corner and u-shaped installations, all in pristine Glacier White from a choice of sophisticated colours.
