Growing demand for a premium slate aesthetic on a budget has led to a surge in demand for thin leading edge concrete tiles, according to Marley.
The roofing manufacturer has seen unprecedented growth in sales of its own Edgemere slate effect interlocking tile over the last five years, with most of the increase taking place since the recovery in the construction industry.
Gavin white, product manager at Marley, explains: “The UK market is starting to move away from specifying standard concrete interlocking tiles, towards those that give a slate look on a budget.
"Using a tile like Edgemere means specifiers can achieve a premium slate like appearance for a relatively small uplift in cost. This means they are able to enhance external aesthetics without compromising the overall budget.”
Quicker and easier to install than natural slate, Edgemere is a thin leading edge concrete tile with impressive environmental credentials. It is available in three variants, standard, riven and duo.
