A leading manufacturer of rigid mesh fencing systems has responded to industry calls for greater perimeter security, by developing an innovative fastening solution – the SafeTfix.
CLD Fencing designed and manufactured SafeTfix, a seven-sided socket which is extremely difficult to remove using conventional tools.
SafeTfix protrudes from a fence by only 4mm ensuring that it does not catch on clothing, harm anyone, or be used as a foothold, thus keeping the fencing safe as well as secure.
A spokesperson at CLD Fencing explains: “As a company committed to development and progression, we are always looking to improve our existing products. By listening to our customers, it was clear that there was a demand for safe, hidden fixings within the design criteria.
“The SafeTfix was born from customers requiring a fence that is secure. We developed this fastening for the rear of a fencing post so that is hidden and therefore tamper-proof; it’s a completely new way of outfoxing intruders because they are accustomed to visible fixings.”
CLD Fencing sought the professional opinion of the LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) who carried out physical development tests under LPCB1175 test conditions in conjunction with the Ultimate Extra SR1 system.
The LCPB1175 describes tests for classifying intruder resistance of building components, strongpoints, security enclosures and free-standing barriers. CLD continues, “The SafeTfix gained the level one test when used with the Ultimate Extra SR1 system, and is much more successful than conventional products or other components in the market.”
As a versatile fastening, the SafeTfix can be used with CLD Fencing’s Exempla, Ultimate, Rotop, and Ultimate Extra SR1 fences.
If a panel in one of these fence lines becomes damaged, its easy-to-use SafeTfix removal tool will dismantle the fence with ease. Replacement panels can be fitted without destroying any other components of the fence. The fence can then be repaired using the same SafeTfix fastening re-installed. The tool is supplied by CLD Fencing only to SafeTfix customers, ensuring security.
The SafeTfix can be used in a variety of industries requiring high security systems including education.
CLD explains the benefits of using SafeTfix in schools, “The fixing isn’t there in the way it was before, so children are unable to tamper with the fence and fastenings. The size of the fastening also means that children cannot climb the fences, nor injure themselves on it. It’s a much better solution to ensure safety and security.”
