Users of Marflow Hydronics’ Filterball are increasingly finding that the valve is taking the strain out of cleaning and maintaining a water distribution system.
For a long time there’s been a belief that strainers improve water quality, whereas in reality, without a proper maintenance schedule, their use can actually cause water quality to decline. Furthermore, even if they are regularly checked, if the right products aren’t used alongside them, then air in the system could become another major issue.
This is where products like the Marflow Hydronics’ Filterball have been designed to help. The Filterball is a compact combined isolation valve and strainer unit and it’s been deliberately designed so that it can be easily accessed for cleaning or maintenance.
Its in-built strainer screen removes the need for separate isolating valves up and downstream of traditional Y strainers, and massive time and cost savings can be made compared to using more traditional strainers and isolating valves.
Nick Martin, Technical Manager at Marflow Hydronics, says, ‘Users can be massively increasing their water quality problems if strainers are added in and then they’re not checked properly. Our Filterball has been designed deliberately so that many of the issues associated with water quality can be more readily overcome. They introduce very little air into the system and can be so easily accessed and operated. We always find that people are quite surprised by just how easy they are to use.’
The Filterball falls into Marflow Hydronics’ range of Pipeline Valves. More information can be found by visiting www.marflowhydronics.co.uk/strainless.
