Balfour Beatty has completed refurbishment projects worth a total of £1 million at two schools in the London Borough of Islington.
Part of the Building Schools for the Future programme, the projects were carried out by the construction company to meet requirements to bring educational facilities up to the latest quality, usability and sustainable standards.
At Canonbury School, Balfour Beatty was appointed to remove and replace the building’s ageing timber windows, before making repairs to the brickwork and completing the works with a high quality decorative finish.
At the nearby Hugh Myddelton School, work involved re-glazing the existing window frames and fitting new insulated panels to ground and first floor windows.
Both projects used materials that will lower energy use in the schools and deliver comfortable environments for pupils and teachers.
Neil Patterson, Balfour Beatty Regional Director, said: “Balfour Beatty has played an important role in delivering school refurbishment programmes across the country and we are delighted we have been able to add these two high quality refurbishment projects to our portfolio.
"As well as improving thermal retention and energy efficiency, Balfour Beatty has ensured both schools will continue to provide outstanding learning environments for many years to come.”
