Ploughcroft has opened the doors of its new Eco Roof Visitors Centre, the only venue of its kind in the north of England.
The venue is the only one of its kind in the region where people with an interest in solar power can come to get a ‘hands-on’ insight into the intricacies of this increasingly popular form of renewable energy. The Eco Roof Visitors Centre is open to building industry professionals, homeowners, students and environmentalists who are interested in finding out more about solar photovoltaic and thermal installations.
Michael Pawlyn, the lead architect on the Eden Project in Cornwall, officially opened the Brighouse-based Centre on Friday 4 February, sharing his insight into how we can create a solar economy by moving away from fossil fuels and run everything from renewable energy.
Chris Hopkins, managing director at Ploughcroft said: “We are very excited to be opening our new Centre to the public. It sets us apart from other solar companies in the north of England and shows customers our level of commitment to making solar become the leading form of sustainable energy in Britain.
“When visitors come to the Eco Roof Visitors Centre, they’ll receive advice from our in-house experts on solar products and installs, as well as being shown the UK’s first solar log system in action and viewing the range of solar panels available for their install. In addition, Ploughcroft will provide its award-winning solar and roofing training sessions at the Centre – the only NVQ accredited solar roofing training centre in the UK.”
The Eco Roof Visitors Centre incorporates Ploughcroft’s new office space and is a mark of the company’s recent business success and growth in the solar arena.
Located in Brighouse, just off Junction 25 on the M62, the Ploughcroft Eco Roof Visitors Centre is easily accessible for visitors from all over the region.
