Ecobuild 2013 marked the official launch of a new Handrail system now available in the UK from Aalco.
Developed by one of Italy’s leading designers, the new handrail features a recess on the underside, which houses a specially-developed LED ribbon that carries LED’s every 30mm which give an output in excess of 180 Lumens.
Very strong and durable in its own right, when fitted in the handrail, the LED ribbon is virtually indestructible and can easily withstand the rigours of the British weather when used in exterior applications.
Developed to integrate harmoniously with a wide variety of architectural settings and situations, the system provides close proximity lighting to stairs and walkways helping to increase safety & security and eliminates the need to light an entire area. The low energy consumption of LED technology means that these benefits are realised at much lower cost than ‘traditional’ lighting.
Aalco’s Business Development Director Clive Bush said: “We have had a very positive response to the expansion of our Handrail & Ballustrade System offer, but the reaction to the LED variant had exceeded all expectations.”
