The Commonwealth Games is just around the corner, taking place across Scotland from the July 23.
Plumbing essential services throughout a number of sites - including a large solar photovoltaic array on the roof of an iconic diving pool, originally built for the 1970s incarnation of the games - are a variety of piping solutions from Geberit.

"The solar pv array needed the larger, 108 mm Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel as the system is so vast," explained Terry McGeogh, from Team Mechanical, the company which installed the pipework.
Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel also provides hot water for the pool, chosen due to its anti-corrosive properties, with Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel used for general heating and Geberit Mepla, a flexible multi-layer pipe, for the potable water and shower areas.

The different sizes and materials it's made out of means there is a versatile Geberit Mapress solution to suit almost any application," continued Terry. "In the boiler rooms, we used Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel - this is the quickest to install, perfect for out of sight locations that require a speedy turn around."
