Responding to rising enquiries from housebuilders on how timber frame can help them meet market demand, Stewart Milne Timber Systems will offer a free RIBA-accredited seminar and factory tour at its automated facility in Witney, Oxfordshire on Thursday September 25.
The leading designer and manufacturer of timber systems will present the CPD-accredited session in conjunction with the Structural Timber Association, following a surge in demand for timber frame and a rising interest in the benefits of offsite construction.
Offering insight into how housing providers, architects and builders can take advantage of market conditions in a cost effective and efficient way, the event will demonstrate how timber frame can significantly benefit the housing industry at a time when demand is growing.
Alex Goodfellow, group managing director of Stewart Milne Timber Systems, said: “We’ve seen a significant increase in enquiries from housebuilders looking to capitalise on the current market upturn through improved cost efficiencies and speed of build.
“This is an ideal opportunity to acquire and refresh knowledge on sustainable construction, and the benefits which low carbon materials such as timber frame offer. It will also provide a valuable networking opportunity for industry professionals.”
The event is offered free of charge to members of the Royal Institute of British Architects, as well as to housebuilders, contractors and affordable housing providers. It carries official CPD-accreditation for RIBA members and will include a CAD demonstration of timber frame design and scheduling, as well as an opportunity to learn about and inspect the raw materials.
