Derby Midland gets the Falco treatment

Three shelters designed, manufactured and installed by Falco at Derby Midland station have been officially handed over to the client.

The Falco shelters incorporate seating, lighting, CCTV and information systems and provide Derby with a state of the art shelter facility on the new concourse of the former Midland railway flagship station.

Manufactured from robust, galvanised and powder coated steel and clad with glass, the facility looks stunning with the three co-ordinated shelters.

Despite tight space constraints, the cycle shelter utilises the highly popular FalcoLevel two tier cycle parking system and provides space for 144 cycles, a huge improvement on the previous facilities. The FalcoMax cycle shelter was adapted to meet the design requirements and can be easily added to, should the facility need to be extended in the future.

The 32m long bus shelter, developed by Falco’s design team, incorporates an architectural split height feature with additional glass to maximise natural light into the shelter structure. The bus shelter also incorporates information systems for passenger use and has perfect finishing touches such as stainless steel mid rails and fire resistant seating.

The Falco taxi shelter is a light and airy structure providing excellent cover for waiting passengers. With an innovative roof design and integral rainwater collection systems, all the shelters provide a high quality mix of function and aesthetics.

Falco also supplied and installed a secure FalcoLok-500 bin store with hardwood cladding, as well as concourse seating.

Falco has its own design and surveying teams, its own manufacturing facilities and its own installation engineers. It can also provide the client with a full turn-key service for any shelter project.
