Daikin UK has announced that it is sponsoring Kevin McCloud’s Green Heroes featured at Grand Designs Live in London’s Excel centre from 5th-13th May 2012.
As a leading supplier of renewable heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration solutions for commercial, residential and industrial applications, Daikin UK is perfectly positioned to support Kevin’s Green Heroes. The Heroes are a selection of the best eco-innovations that will be on display at Grand Designs Live.
Andrew Crown, Commercial Manager, Heating and Renewables at Daikin UK, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Kevin’s Green Heroes at Grand Designs Live. As a company at the forefront of innovation in renewables, we fully understand the importance of supporting new eco-products in the UK construction industry. Finding the most energy efficient and economical methods of building and construction is now a real priority for the Government, for housing providers and for forward thinking home owners alike.”
Iain Bevan, National Sales Manager, Heating, for Daikin UK will be taking part in a panel discussion, chaired by celebrity architect George Clarke to discuss renewable energy solutions. The panel discussion will take place in the Grand Designs Live Theatre at midday on Sunday 13th May.
Other panellists will include: Mike Landy, head of onsite renewables at the Renewable Energy Association; Stephen Passmore, technical expert on domestic renewables and alternative energy sources at the Energy Saving Trust and Robert Gaukroger, Grand Designer and architect of the ‘Dome House’ in the Lake District, who has installed a whole set of renewable and alternative energy systems.
Daikin UK is well placed to make a valuable contribution to this discussion, having built upon its enviable reputation for quality and innovation in the commercial heating and cooling market. The company built this reputation by first establishing itself as the leading manufacturer in the domestic market with its renewable heating systems for the home.
The company’s range of heat pumps and solar thermal systems can provide advanced, integrated, renewable heating solutions for new build, renovation projects and retrofit installations. Our renewable heating systems can provide for detached rural homes, harder to heat properties, city centre apartment schemes and affordable housing.
As a market leader in heat pump technology, renowned for its innovation and quality, Daikin routinely delivers highly efficient heating solutions that reduce the environmental impact of warming homes without compromising on performance.
In the private market, with ever more discerning buyers, homes with innovative and energy saving features are more desirable than less efficiently designed properties. Reduced running costs mean that potential buyers can look forward to lower heating bills – a major selling point in today’s economy.
This is particularly significant for homes in off-gas areas, as traditional heating methods such as LPG and oil incur higher costs and transport implications which can be prohibitive. These methods also present issues regarding supply, especially given the heavy snowfall that the UK has experienced in recent years.
Air-water heat pumps present homeowners with a highly energy efficient alternative heating solution. They work by extracting latent heat from the outside air, which is then used to heat radiators or underfloor heating systems and hot water. Daikin Altherma air-water heating systems are able to deliver all domestic heating and hot water requirements throughout the year – even when the temperature outside is down to -20°C.
