Black Millwork has introduced a high performance Urban Sliding Sash window to its extensive collection of high quality timber windows and doors – proving that traditional aesthetics do not have to come at the expense of energy efficiency.
Combining the classic lines of a Victorian era window with the technical benefits of a modern product, this stylish solution is ideal for both period refurbishments and elegant new build properties.
The windows are available in double or triple glazed formats to offer maximum thermal performance, as required. Delivering excellent energy efficiency, the units achieve a U-value of 1.5 W/m2K for the double glazed option and 1.3 W/m2K for the tripled glazed choice.
What’s more, advances in manufacturing techniques mean that the windows are available with a narrow profile frame – enabling more light to filter into the property. Black Millwork is currently the only manufacturer able to offer a triple glazed sliding sash in a narrow frame.
Gary Hutton, General Manager at Black Millwork said: “Many of our customers are looking for products that accurately recreate the timeless appeal of period architecture – but with an increasing focus on the environmental performance of buildings, this cannot come at the expense of thermal efficiency. Our Urban Sliding Sash windows show that there is not need to compromise, offering the very best in terms of efficiency, performance and beauty.
“With such an extensive collection, Black Millwork truly is the one stop shop for any door or window specification – with the added peace of mind that our extensive warranties come as standard, with ten years for sealed units and five years on hardware and paint finish.”
Manufactured from quality knot-free engineered Baltic pine, the windows are glazed as standard with Pilkington Low E 24mm glass, encompassing 90% Argon Gas Fill, which helps maintain the superior thermal performance.
They are supplied fully finished in White RAL 9010 as standard, with options for any RAL colour. They are also available in a choice of dual colour frames; painted exterior with lacquered interior; and stain or lacquer finish interior and exterior.
