Sto, the world-renowned supplier of premium External Wall Insulation Systems used Ecobuild 2013 to launch a new Stomix brand.

Stomix is a range of solutions designed specifically for refurbishment projects with a particular focus on hard-to-treat social housing.

Stomix offers a range sure to appeal to public sector housing authorities wanting to upgrade their housing stock and capitalise on ECO funding.  Stomix provides an attractively priced solution backed by the technical expertise for which Sto is renowned.

All Sto and Stomix EWIS options will easily provide the U-value of 0.3W/m2K required by Part L of the Building Regulations.  By increasing the volume of insulation material specified much lower values are possible.   The proven ability to deliver a U-value of 0.12W/m2K when fitted to solid wall structures is particularly attractive for the current focus on reducing the energy requirements for both new build and existing housing stock.

The Stomix range includes options for both EPS and mineral wool insulation (with mineral wool being the choice for high-rise buildings) and with a range of finishes including a brick slip to closely imitate a traditional brick façade as well as the more familiar render.

The new Stomix brand will benefit from the acknowledged technical expertise of Sto and the company is also investing in a new training facility to provide information for specifiers and contractors on the particular challenges of the refurbishment sector.
