Construction works are on schedule for Acrow Galvanizers’ new £6million state-of-the-art facility in Haverhill, with the main constituents of the building currently being installed at the site.

The plant, which is one of Wedge Group Galvanizing’s 14 UK sites, has been based in Saffron Walden since the mid 70s and currently employs 41 people, will be relocated to the upgraded facility early next year.

Steve Milne, Regional Director of Wedge Group Galvanizing, explained: “We’re delighted with the progress of the new plant so far, and we’re currently on schedule for our planned opening in March 2016. The new galvanized steel frame has recently been installed, and the enhanced layout – which has been specifically designed to streamline processes and improve the production line – will start coming together over the next few months.”

The new facility is part of the Group’s continued commitment to enhancing its services, with the construction adapting the latest industry-leading technologies and sustainable practices in mind, including integrated rainwater harvesting and storage systems.

“Haverhill is just 10 miles from our current site and we’re continuing to operate from Saffron Walden as usual right up until the official launch so there will be no disruption to our customers. The facility is truly innovative and will position the plant for future growth and development, as well as ensure we maintain our support across a diverse range of industries,” Steve added.

Once operational, Acrow Galvanizing will be hosting a number of open days for its customers, who will also be given the opportunity to tour the new facility.

Wedge Group Galvanizing is the largest hot-dip galvanizing organisation in the UK with a history dating back over 150 years. With 14 plants strategically placed across the country, the firm offers a truly national galvanizing service.
