Timberplay would like to extend their congratulations to all the winners of the recent Landscape Institute Awards – in particular to Walpole Park and South Park Plaza, both of which feature Timberplay equipment.

South Park Plaza, one of the parks within the Olympic Park, was developed as a 21st Century ‘Pleasure Garden’, redeveloped after the 2012 Olympic Games. James Corner Field Operations created the design vision and LDA Design delivered the final construction documents and specifications. The unusual play area includes play mounds, nest swings and a bespoke series of posts for clambering over. It scooped the award for Design for Large Scale Development.

Picking up the award for Heritage and Conservation was Walpole Park in Ealing, West London, a challenging development that includes extensive water play and a huge Climbing Forest to delight older children. J&L Gibbons were lead architect on the project, with Gavin Jones the contractor.

Paul Collings, Managing Director comments: "We have the great pleasure of working alongside some very bold and creative Landscape Architects who continually push the boundaries of play.

"These two projects represent excellent examples of how play can be effectively used to transform public spaces for the benefit of the local community. Congratulations to all concerned on the schemes, and all the other winners.”
