Polypipe Ventilation, manufacturer of market leading energy-saving domestic ventilation systems, has had its Silavent Sapphire dMEV (Decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation) centrifugal fans specified and installed into a highly unusual new residential conversion - a former police station in Harrogate.
The Old Police Station, which is being marketed by national property agents Carter Jonas, is a development of characterful apartments and houses created within a handsome Grade II listed building dating back to 1927.
It has been sympathetically restored by developers Harrogate Restoration, boasting carefully retained period features, but with all the benefits of 21st century living.
As part of the conversion, energy efficient heating and ventilation has been installed throughout. This includes Silavent Sapphire dMEV centrifugal fans to provide continuous ventilation to bathrooms.
The UK manufactured Silavent Sapphire centrifugal dMEV fans boast excellent performance and contemporary design, at an affordable price. With a low Specific Fan Power (SFP) down to 0.29W/(l/s) and very quiet operation down to 18dB(A), the Sapphire dMEV was the natural choice for a project where the latest ventilation technology and heritage are paramount.
Sapphire dMEV units form part of Polypipe Ventilation’s Silavent range which, in addition to traditional intermittent fans, also features the award winning HRX (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) and exceptionally compact CMX (Mechanical Extract Ventilation) appliances. These units all offer superior performance coupled with simple installation and operation, with the CMX being suitable for void depths as shallow as 127mm (5”).
Silavent fans and whole house units have a well-deserved reputation for quality, supported by excellent technical support, from a market leading UK manufacturer and designer. Polypipe Ventilation is well placed to offer immediate, practical solutions to Building Regulations Parts F & L. The company continues to provide differentiated solutions in the private and social housing sectors, transforming the way developers, specifiers, installers, home owners and distributors meet emerging environmental standards.
