Key insulated systems in the Parex renders and facades range now have a “belt & braces” guarantee that they will stand up to the worst of the British climate.
The well-proven systems have now received Zone 4 “very severe wind-driven rain index rating” with LABC and Premier Guarantee for application onto a wide range of substrates and system build constructions.
Zone 4 is the yardstick for systems used in the most exposed areas of the UK subject to extremes in howling gales and wind-driven rain.
Parex is the only render manufacturer accredited to the Zone 4 rating with the backing of LABC and Premier Guarantee.
Systems covered by the accreditation are:
- Parextherm Mineral External Wall Insulation (EWI) render systems
- Parextherm Acrylic EWI render systems
- Parextherm Marbri Dash EWI render systems
- Parextherm and Parexdirect render systems onto Siniat Render Board, Aqua Board and Weather Defence Board.
Zone 4 covers areas along the western seaboard likely to experience the most severe weather conditions in the UK and includes the South West, West Wales, North West, Cumbria and Scotland.
Parex External Wall Insulation systems already feature on more than 1,500 refurbished homes in West Cumbria as part of a £7.5 million refurbishment scheme by the Cumbria Housing Partnership, which includes four housing associations -- Home Group, Westfield Housing Association and Impact Housing Association. Many of the homes are within a mile of the coastline and subject to a regular pounding by the weather.
Further down the coastline, Parex render systems were also used for the refurbishment of the façade of apartments at Sandside near Arnside (pictured) where wind, rain and salt spray are often whipped up by bad weather across Morecambe Bay.
Comments Render and EWI systems General Manager Steven Keitley: “This is important independent recognition that our systems are eminently suitable for use in areas which experience some of the worst conditions the infamous British weather can muster.”
