The new £26m, I. I. D Architect designed, Chessington Community College scheme is open. Students are now able to give their undivided attention to their studies thanks to the installation of Hunter Douglas EL80ASK motorised Venetian Blinds. These high quality blinds utilise Somfy Animeo technology which includes a roof top weather station to track the suns movement and, reacting to changing light levels, adjust blinds accordingly.
Hunter Douglas External Venetian Blinds can enhance natural daylighting, reduce glare and regulate thermal gain to guarantee a comfortable room temperture and increased productivity. The blinds tilt angle can be adjusted to keep direct sunlight out and let natural daylight in, thus creating complete user flexibility. User benefits include a reduction in the need for air-conditioning resulting in energy savings improved daylight distribution, a reduction in glare on screens and workspaces and reduced pollution due to energy saving.
Hunter Douglas say that their Duolux™ light control blind offers the optimal solution for rooms with computer units or smartboards. Besides the excellent benefit of sun protection, this type of blind also offers high flexibility in setting the required slat angles due to the almost independent tilting of the top and lower part of the blind. This feature enables optimal light conditions throughout the room. The Duolux™ blind is automatically lowered in a 40° pre-set tilt angle offering optimal sun protection, without causing darkening and distraction in the room. Pre-set tilt angle can be de-activated or activated again. Full closure of the slats is possible at any time. The blind is divided into two sections, at approx. 1.50 m. from the floor level, which can be tilted open with a maximum difference in angle of approx. 60°.
Architectural aesthetics are fully catered for via a wide selection of colours.
