Independent living solutions provider AKW has put its expertise behind the launch of its new Liberty kitchen range.
The range provides all of the elements needed to create inclusive and adapted kitchens and is backed by AKW’s specialist survey and design service, which offers a complete kitchen package, tailored to individual needs.
The Liberty range offers a wide choice of unit size, worktop and door colours, complete with a lifetime guarantee on any carcuss (five years on the faschia). Incorporating AKW’s core values of safety, functionality and durability, it boasts a number of features that will enable those requiring extra help in the kitchen to be safe and make best use of the space available.
Units feature a raised base and recessed plinth to accommodate wheelchair footplates and increase cupboard access, while larder units include height-adjustable shelves for flexible storage space and easy side access. Also available in the range is the new ActivMotion rise-and-fall unit which provides height-adjustable worktops which can accommodate a sink or hob. An extensive choice of internal fittings, including pull-out baskets and drawer fittings is available to maximise fully the flexibility of the kitchen design.
As well as kitchen units, the Liberty range features specially designed built-in appliances, including an oven with a slide-away door. Opening as a traditional drop-down oven door, it can then be slid under the unit ensuring that a wheelchair or visually impaired user can pass easily without an open door obstructing their path or creating a trip hazard.
