Mitsubishi Electric has launched a new Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system with a low profile at high airflow to help more businesses improve the indoor air quality in one of the most energy efficient ways possible.
The LGH-160/200/250RVXT3-E Lossnay MVHR can recover up to 88% of heat energy from outgoing stale air to significantly reduce the energy needed to bring incoming air up to room temperature, while refreshing the indoor air and removing pollutants, viruses and other irritants.
Breathing is our first instinctive action and the most natural thing we do, over 20,000 times a day in fact. When asked about air pollution, most people think of it as an outdoor issue caused by carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides from vehicles and factories.
However, the air inside our buildings can be up to five times more polluted than the air outdoors, as more and more buildings are airtight to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. This can lead to a buildup of stale, polluted air inside our buildings, and this is where Lossnay MVHR can really help. The new, upgraded ‘T’ range differs slightly from the flagship Lossnay range by being lower profile (500mm height) in the higher airflows units, which would traditionally be double stacked.
“The lower height allows the installation of the unit to take place where ceiling void height is limited and makes energy efficient fresh air ventilation achievable in even more situations,” explains Hern Yau, Mitsubishi Electric’s ventilation specialist.
The RVXT3 works by recovering the heat and reducing carbon usage for both heating and cooling. It also features a new control mode which can be used with a pressure transducer to offer constant pressure control which can allow one unit to serve multiple rooms with varying fresh air requirements without over-ventilating.
The reduced number of units required will also mean less wall penetration. As another option, the plug and play CO2 sensor, helps to further save energy and keep indoor air fresh in relation to the number of occupants in the space.
The units come with a dual barrier coating on fans to stop dirt, dust and grease adhering to the blade. This means the building will be left with better indoor air quality for longer as all air passes over the fans, as well as extending equipment life.
“The new system makes a whole host of improvements to upgrade from our current range of commercial RVXT MVHR’s,” adds Hern Yau, “For example the flexible fan commissioning is available in 5% increments, offering lower energy use, lower running costs and easier compliance with Part L”.
With its low profile and high airflow making it perfect to provide clean and healthy air for every commercial environment, whilst also recovering the heat and reducing carbon usage on both heating and cooling.
