Daikin UK has released dates for its upcoming Future Thinking seminars, aimed at building services consultants.

Now in its ninth season, speakers in this latest series will explore the theme ‘Optimising Design and Performance’, at ten locations across the UK.

The Future Thinking programme is designed to tackle the increasing challenges of designing a suitable built environment; and aims to inform and provoke discussion around achieving a sustainable and comfortable indoor climate.

This latest series considers how to achieve high performance buildings throughout the project lifecycle, starting with designing for flexibility and increasing efficiencies through BIM and software tools. Speakers will examine the role that commissioning and BMS controls play in reducing the performance gap; and look at optimising heat recovery and the importance of future-proofed technologies.

The seminars will also focus on working within the WELL Building Standard, the first evidence-based system for measuring, certifying and monitoring building features that impact on health and wellbeing.

Karen Perry, National Specification Manager at Daikin UK, commented: “With post occupancy evaluations commonly highlighting discrepancies between the designed and actual performance of a building, our latest seminar aims to explore how to maximise efficiencies during the design phase and offers advice on optimising performance in-use.

“Our Future Thinking programme is now in its fourth year and has proved to be a great success. As well as gaining CPD points, attendees also enjoy the opportunity to network with Future Thinking professionals from across the building services community.”
