Ecobuild 2017 has announced the UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC) as its strategic lead partner for the third year running.
Working in close partnership, UK-GBC will support Ecobuild in delivering an exclusive content programme exploring key issues around sustainability, leadership and innovation.
The overarching theme for Ecobuild 2017 is Regeneration, with a complete conference and seminar agenda focusing on redefining sustainability, industry growth and tackling the housing crisis.
In line with UK-GBC’s leadership and innovation focus, the organisation will host the sustainability theatre housed at Ecobuild’s ‘City Hall’ feature, with a programme of seminars and debates on the hot topics of sustainability including carbon reduction in the built environment, disruptive innovation, and healthy workplaces for productive employees.
As part of the Ecobuild Conference programme, UK-GBC’s Chief Executive, Julie Hirigoyen, will also chair a series of thought-provoking leadership insight sessions on the future of sustainable housing, workplace and retail.
UK-GBC’s Learning and Development programme will be supported by Ecobuild as part of the organisations’ ongoing relationship. Working with UK-GBC and Saint-Gobain (the strategic partner of UK-GBC’s L&D programme), Ecobuild will help to raise awareness of sustainability and green buildings by promoting courses and events to its diverse audience from across the industry.
Martin Hurn, Brand Director at Ecobuild, explained: “With a shared focus on championing sustainable construction practices across the industry, the partnership between Ecobuild and UK-GBC is an excellent fit.
“The topics of sustainability and regeneration have never been more pressing than in the current economic climate. At the event we’ll be working together to explore these issues, looking at sustainability as a driver for innovation and growth, and as a way for organisations to do better business.”
Commenting on the partnership, Julie added: “UK-GBC is delighted to be the lead partner for Ecobuild 2017. We’ll be present at the show’s sustainability hub, ‘City Hall’, which represents the culmination of Ecobuild’s Redefining Sustainability campaign. This focus very much aligns with our own ambition for sustainability to step up a gear and enter the mainstream.
“Drawing on our network of industry leaders, we will be curating a range of sessions designed to provide topical insight across a variety of issues, as well as present the business case for sustainability. We’ll also be showcasing some of our recent work around wellbeing and productivity and promoting the value of strong leadership across our industry.”
Ecobuild wants to hear from companies who are championing innovation in sustainable construction, design and energy in the built environment.
