Warmafloor, the UK’s leading surface heating and cooling specialist has begun installing a new underfloor heating and cooling solution at Daedalus, the new business enterprise park in Lee-on-the-Solent, for UTPCO (Universal Tool and Production CO Ltd).
UTPCO is a precision engineering company manufacturing equipment for the aerospace, oil and gas market sectors.
Warmafloor is designing a bespoke underfloor heating and cooling system for UTPCO’s new purpose built 2763m² factory to provide an optimum heating and cooling environment for the specialist equipment UTPCO produces. Warmafloor has developed and embedded a 20mm diameter-polybutylene (PB1) pipe into the structural slab where the embedded coils are located.
A safety tolerance allowance has been installed to enable the specialist plant machinery to be fixed in position on the tool room floor without fear of compromising the under floor heating circuits.
Further to the factory work, a bespoke heating and cooling solution has been placed to fit the office environment within the factory. In this area the circuits are embedded into the screed over the Warmafloor tacker system.
The factory and the offices require very close environmental control and Warmafloor has configured its unique Total Integrated Controls Strategy (TICS) Modular control solution to enable heating and cooling harmony resulting in low energy usage.
The infrastructure designed by Warmafloor has the highest level of sustainability and energy saving potential to ensure that the factory remains highly energy efficient and at the cutting edge of its own markets.
Malcolm Jaques, Commercial Manager of Warmafloor, said: “We are extremely proud to be working on such an exciting project with UTPCO close to our head office in Fareham. The importance of the area only adds to this project and as a team we are looking forward to seeing the finished product.
"Warmafloor has ensured that the same level of engineering excellence that UTPCO incorporates into its equipment manufacturing has been used in the construction of this new factory, to achieve the very highest build standard.”
