Responding to increased market demand for heavy-duty renewable energy solutions, leading biomass provider Rural Energy has partnered with Herz, the premier Austrian boiler manufacturer, to develop the Herz Firematic 199kW HD.

Specifically designed for energy intensive applications such as poultry farms and leisure centres, the new design is based on the popular Firematic 199kW model.

Featuring the same reliable grate and boiler design the new HD version benefits from a larger body and combustion chamber, which in turn delivers increased water volume and overall heating capacity.

These modifications mean the new HD model benefits from a greater thermal mass, enabling it to cope more effectively with long operating periods – ideal for sectors where constant heat is required.

The redesigned combustion chamber and heat exchanger also allow for wider tolerances on the moisture content of the wood chip fuel source.  The new HD model is able to produce the full 199kW output using wood chip containing up to 40% moisture, without adversely affecting the operation of the boiler.

These changes are in addition to the existing features of the extremely popular Firematic range, which include: simple operation mechanisms; automatic cleaning systems for the combustion chamber and pipe heat exchanger; a variety of fuel discharge systems and a consistently high level of efficiency.

Paul Clark, Managing Director at Rural Energy, commented: “With the continued pressure of rising fuel costs, the demand for large-scale biomass solutions is definitely increasing – particularly in applications where a constant temperature must be maintained over extended periods of time.  We’ve listened to this customer feedback and worked closely with our manufacturing partner Herz to develop a solution that meets these needs.

“The new Herz Firematic 199kW HD gives another option for energy intensive applications, allowing customers to avoid potential headaches such as increased maintenance costs and shortened lifespans caused by pushing boilers beyond their design capacity.”

As the only UK supplier of quality Herz boilers, Rural Energy has received a positive reaction to the new HD product, which will be available from autumn 2014, with a number of pre-orders already being received from the company’s partner network of installers.
