Peikko Group Corporation’s British subsidiary Peikko UK Ltd has received a substantial order for delivering concrete flooring solutions to Jaguar Land Rover’s new car engine manufacturing plant in Wolverhampton.
The new plant currently being constructed alongside the existing plant will double the size of the engine manufacturing premises.
Peikko delivers OPTIMAJOINT Free Movement Joints and METAFORM DUO Free Movement Joints for the ground-bearing slabs of the project.
Altogether Peikko will deliver several kilometers of floor joints to the project. The new plant is planned to be finished this year.
The investor of the project is Jaguar Land Rover. The structural design of the project has been made by Arup Consultant Engineers. The main contractor is Vinci Construction PLC and their flooring division is responsible for the construction of the floors.
The new 83.600 m² engine manufacturing plant is a major part of Jaguar Land Rover’s £450 million expansion program. The new engine manufacturing plant will significantly increase the existing production capacity.
“Peikko’s OPTIMAJOINT and METAFORM DUO were chosen for the project as the main contractor and structural designer were impressed about the on-site assembly speed and the engineering of the armour joints.
The joint structure allows smoother trafficking by e.g. forklifts in the busy engine manufacturing process”, states Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.
