The Leadbitter Group has finished its latest affordable housing project in Cornwall, with the handover of nine family homes in Saltash.

Working on behalf of Tamar Housing Society under a design and build contract, Leadbitter constructed the nine terraced homes that make up the Fort View development in Alamein Road. Arranged in three groups of three, the four three-bedroom and five two-bedroom houses all meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 and feature solar photovoltaic panels to generate electricity.

The contract was awarded to Leadbitter following successful completion of similar developments for Tamar in the south west—including the Housing Society’s new build project in Treburley, Launceston.

Rob Bradley, Managing Director of Leadbitter’s Western division, said: “We are delighted to have completed these much-needed, high-quality, affordable houses for the people of Saltash. We have used our local knowledge, combined with our experience and expertise in delivering housing projects of this kind across the country, to deliver a total of 40 homes in the Saltash area.”

Julie Barnett, Chief Executive of Tamar Housing Society, commented: “I am delighted that the nine houses have been completed to such a high standard. These homes have helped to meet the demand for affordable homes in the Saltash.”
