Hanson Formpave’s permeable paving was the ideal choice to complete an exclusive development of five homes in Ubley, near Bristol.
The development has been built to a high specification and Formpave’s Aquapave combined paving and Aquaflow Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) perfectly complemented the new homes, while providing a solution to help drain rainwater away.
In total 400 square metres of Aqaupave was laid and by using Formpave ‘s Aquaflow SUDS it meant that the developer saved time and money as it only requires digging to a depth of 480 millimetres, much less than usually required when installing SUDS.
Developer, Mike Palmer said: “We are incredibly impressed with Formpave’s paving and Aquaflow system, which has meant we have been able to meet the same high standards for the landscaping as we did for the main build.
“Situated as we are at the foot of the Mendip hills run off can build up very quickly. Most of the land slopes towards the five houses we have built but Formpave’s Aquaflow system ensures that – even in high rainfall – water is managed effectively.
“We have had the paving down for a few months now and even with heavy vehicles accessing the site – sometimes daily – the paving has remained clean and new looking with no indentation.”
Hanson Formpave’s Head of Design, John Lloyd said: “We ae committed to working with developers to help them find the perfect paving and offer a comprehensive free design service which includes technical and professional advice, preparation of draft proposals and validation of the clients’ own designs.”
