Cable management specialist, Unitrunk has supplied the New South Glasgow Hospital with cable ladder, tray and trunking as part of the extensive power infrastructure for the showpiece £842 million new hospital.
Boasting 1109 patient beds over 14 storeys, the New South Glasgow Hospital will be one of the largest acute hospitals in Europe when it opens in May and will offer specialist care for renal medicine, transplantation and vascular surgery along with state-of-the-art critical care, theatre and diagnostic facilities.
The largest ever investment in a hospital build project in Scotland, New South Glasgow Hospital will offer state of the art facilities and the cable management provided by Unitrunk forms the infrastructure for all high voltage cabling, small power and lighting throughout the hospital campus.
The hospital marks a move away from ward-based care to private rooms, with every patient having their own en-suite rooms with views out across the campus.
The project builds on Unitrunk’s experience of hospital schemes, which also includes Edith Cavell Hospital and Heath Children’s Hospital in South Wales and the company’s Rapid Installation Systems (RIS) approach means that its products are ideally suited to the time critical programmes involved in delivering high profile health sector developments.
