Johnstone’s Trade has donated more than 60 litres of its high performance products to assist with the refurbishment of the Two Saints learning centre in Newbury, The Base.
Working alongside facilities management company, Mitie, Johnstone’s product donation helped ensure a full redecoration of the centre, which supports homeless people across Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxford and West Sussex.
The refurbishment has helped to generate the space needed to create a modern environment, encouraging clients to participate in activities aimed at helping them to return to employment and independent living.
Johnstone’s donated an array of its products, including Acrylic Eggshell, Durable Matt, Covaplus Vinyl Matt, Aqua Undercoat and Aqua Gloss, in a variety of colours.
Kenny Robson, managing director of Mitie’s painting business, whose team was instrumental in getting the project off the ground, said: “At Mitie, we’re totally committed to supporting local communities. It’s been a privilege to work with Two Saints and our supply partners to transform The Base into a modern space that helps facilitate those affected by homelessness.”
Dean Higgins, learning and enterprise manager of Two Saints, added: “It’s an amazing transformation and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of Mitie and the other businesses involved. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard.”
