Watertite Heating Ltd has completed installation work as part of a major schools refurbishment and new build programme in Dorset with the help of leading building services supplier Pipe Center.

The Yeovil-based contractor, currently celebrating 25 years in business, completed the installation of heating and plumbing systems serving five schools within the tight six-week summer holiday period.

It included installation of high efficiency condensing boilers from Rehema, Lochinvar water heaters, new radiators, pipes, pumps and fittings. Building Services consultant was Mabey Francis of Bournemouth.

“It was a significant contract for us and had to be delivered within a very tight timescale while the schools were closed for the summer holidays,“ says Julian Newbury, who headed up the project for Watertite Heating Ltd.

“Everything had to be installed, commissioned and tested before the schools opened for the Autumn term. To achieve this it was vital that all plant and materials were available when required, as there wasn’t any margin for error.”

He added: “Pipe Center delivered everything on time, as promised, and provided excellent technical back-up and support throughout.”

A significant role was played by Pipe Center’s recently created regional technical support and estimating team, based in West Bromwich.

Roger Hoskins, Pipe Center’s regional sales manager, said: “We worked closely with Watertite throughout the contract, to ensure all equipment was in stock and supplied at the right time to smooth the installation process.

“Schools remain a major priority for upgrading across the country, however there are inevitable constraints when it comes to when work can be carried out. This can be solved by working closely with contractors in both the planning and on-site phases, to ensure everything required for projects is ready for delivery when needed.”
