ISG has further strengthened its relationship with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) following the contractor’s appointment to the Construction Framework for Court Secure Docks.

The four-year framework addresses the provision of secure dock facilities within courtrooms across England and Wales and augments ISG’s existing six-year Strategic Alliance Agreement Framework for Construction with the MoJ, which the contractor was re-appointed to earlier this year.

Encompassing a widely varying portfolio of courtroom accommodation, this latest framework will streamline the installation of upgraded and more secure docks, which will comply with the latest Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements. The highly bespoke nature of each courtroom installation was a key driver in the MoJ’s decision to create a framework for a small number of specialist contractors with the expertise to deliver complex, fast-track projects nationally.

An extensive track record in the delivery of critical infrastructure upgrades within the banking and retail sectors was a key factor in ISG’s appointment. To avoid disrupting court hearings, each secure dock installation must be delivered and fully commissioned outside of court hours and to a strict timeframe. The contractor’s planning, pre-construction and in-house design and manufacturing capability also proved instrumental in ISG’s latest MoJ win.

Darren Hill, managing director of ISG Fit Out and Retail, commented: “This second framework appointment with the MoJ highlights ISG’s core understanding of the specific client requirements and protocols within secure environments. The delivery challenges here are comparable to those within the retail and financial services sectors and we bring this expertise and experience to the Secure Docks framework.

“The individual nature of each project, allied to the fast-track turnaround, makes the pre-construction phase critically important to the success of each installation. This is where our in-house capability proves especially advantageous, as we can deploy a dedicated team of professionals at an early stage and successfully plan each scheme well in advance to ensure a successful outcome.”
