Häfele UK, experts in premium design solutions, is celebrating the news that its products were used within Liverpool's award winning Everyman Theatre.
The rebuilt Everyman has received international recognition and been awarded the RIBA Stirling Prize for best new building of the year, beating five other buildings to win the honour - the Royal Institute of British Architects' highest accolade.
Architects, Haworth Tompkins’ quality designs and use of recycled materials feature throughout the Everyman Theatre including flooring in the theatre which was made from recycled rubber and back of house flooring made from a mix of cork and rubber. Häfele’s Classic Flat Track Sliding Door System was used to hang the sliding door within the Foyer, the door being made up of timber from the shuttering used to cast the board marked concrete around the building, in keeping with the venue’s green credentials.
Mike Kelly, Director for Architectural Business, at Häfele UK said; “Häfele’s Classic Flat Track Sliding Door system is designed for domestic or commercial use such as loft apartments, restaurants, rustic kitchens, art galleries, museums and barn doors. To have our products included within such an impressive theatre building is testament to the superior quality of Häfele’s products and we are honoured to have been involved in such an impressive project.”
Will Mesher, Project Architect at Haworth Tompkins, said; “We chose Häfele’s Classic Flat Track Sliding Door System for the simple industrial look of the exposed wheels and the ability to take the weight of the large door.”
