When developing the 12 two and three-storey properties on its new housing development in Weston Super Mare, Summerfield Homes required a drainage system that would protect the structure from potentially damaging rainwater, while also complementing the aesthetic of the modern builds.

It was for this reason that Marley Plumbing & Drainage’s Flowline rainwater system was specified in the popular shade of anthracite grey, chosen not just for its contemporary appearance but for its high-flow rate.

Marley Plumbing & Drainage’s Flowline rainwater system features an attractive rectilinear gutter profile and has a high flow-rate, making it the ideal choice for domestic properties with large roof areas, like those situated in Summerfield Homes’ latest development.

Nick Birch, Commercial Divisional Director at Summerfield Homes, said: “We have used Marley products on previous projects with great success, so when we saw that a new anthracite grey colour option was going to be made available, we knew that it would be a great fit for the development.

"The profile is a refreshing change from the standard guttering we are used to seeing and the contemporary colour really enhances the outward appearance of the properties.

"More importantly, as well as looking great, the system components are high-quality with a long-lasting performance – we’re really delighted with how the homes have turned out.”

Gibbs Plumbing, who supplied all of the rainwater systems on the Summerfield Homes project, has a long-standing relationship with Marley Plumbing & Drainage, having stocked its products for over 40 years.

Eric Gibbs, owner at Gibbs Plumbing, commented: “My client, Summerfield Homes, were thrilled at the prospect of being able to install a rainwater system in the contemporary shade of anthracite grey on its new development. As such, I approached Marley and ordered the product for the whole site.”

The residential development of twelve bespoke homes were completed by Summerfield Homes in 2017 and were designed to fully take advantage of the location’s panoramic views towards the area’s limestone Mendip Hills.
