The UK’s leading precast concrete manufacturer, Bison Manufacturing, has been appointed to provide its units for a new residential project in Edinburgh.
Designed and developed by property developers, David Wilson Homes, the apartment block within the larger Liberton Grange development situated in Liberton, South Edinburgh, will consist of 32 flats, spanning across four floors.
In its entirety, the Liberton Grange development will consist of 205 new homes, including one and two bedroom apartments, along with three and four bedroom homes.
Having been appointed by David Wilson Homes, Bison will supply a total of 2852m² of their 200mm deep Hollowcore floor units, as well as two staircases which will span from the ground to the third floor of the apartment complex.
Specified for the quality of its products, Bison’s precast staircases also offer immediate access to upper floors during the construction phase.
Speaking on the project, Bryan Galloway, Construction Director for David Wilson Homes East Scotland, said “Having worked with Bison on numerous other projects, we are aware of the benefits of using their products.
“For use in residential projects, their Hollowcore units offer great acoustic benefits that reduce noise transfer between apartments, ensuring maximium comfort for the future occupants of this development.”
Sales and Commercial Manager at Bison, Mike Nelson, said: “This apartment block is one of many new builds within the Liberton Grange developments, and we’re delighted to have been appointed.
“By manufacturing our precast units in factory controlled conditions, we are able to guarantee consistently high quality products and overcome any issues with adverse weather."
Work on site started in early 2015, with the development expected to be complete by June 2019.
