A specialist mailbox manufacturer that provides secure mail and parcel boxes throughout the UK and globally, has proved that design is just as important as function when working with major property developers.

The Safety Letterbox Company, the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of secure mailboxes, has recently completed projects for two major property developers: Barratt London’s Putney Rise development in south west London and CITU Homes’ The Little Kelham development in Sheffield (pictured).

Both property developers chose products from The Safety Letterbox Company’s new individual mailbox range, providing the ability for safe and secure receipt of mail but also carefully matching the considered design of the homes.

The Putney Rise development, which features a mix of 125 apartments and 30 houses, chose fire rated mailboxes for the apartment buildings and individual MEFA Judo mailboxes for the houses. For these properties, Barratt London selected a graphite grey mailbox finish with a high quality stainless steel band to match the properties’ windows and doors.

The Little Kelham development consists of 153 one to four bedroom homes, along with a variety of creative spaces, cafes and shops. For these properties ‘MEFA Letter’ mailboxes were mounted onto the external walls of properties to securely store mail. They were finished in a basalt grey colour to compliment features of the development.

The Safety Letterbox Company’s individual mailbox range has proved popular with property developers for their stylish design, high security and their ability to provide a solution for homeowners for parcel deliveries at single properties.

Alison Orrells, managing director of The Safety Letterbox Company, said: “Continuing to work with major property developers and architects with our newest product range is fantastic for the business. As with all the many projects we are involved with, the design and creative element is paramount throughout. Through paying careful attention to design details and working closely with architects, designers and developers, we are able to meet the aesthetics of the project and create and install secure mailboxes that match the destination perfectly.”

The Safety Letterbox Company has seen an increase in demand for mailbox solutions for individual properties for a variety of reasons, including: to reduce heat loss by removing the need for a letter flap; for additional security; and for aesthetic reasons. The company has subsequently launched an online purchasing facility for its latest product range.

Over the last 30 years the company has completed many other projects for a range of leading and award winning housing developers and home builders, including Countryside Properties and Abel Homes. The company also boasts a high-end client portfolio, including the Burj Khalifa in Dubai - the tallest skyscraper in the world.
