Titan Group, a specialist provider of built-environment services, has been appointed as the main contractor for the construction of new student housing in Nottingham city centre.
Haas Group, who specialise in residential, student accommodation and PRS developments in the UK, have been appointed development manager.
The project is being run in collaboration with Nottingham based architects CBP Architects and BWB Consulting, a commercial engineering consultancy, also based in Nottingham.
The 77-bed student-housing scheme, on 95 Talbot Street, is expected to take 52 weeks, with completion expected in time for the start of the September 2016 academic year.
The site will be handed-over to Empiric Student Property PLC (‘ESP’) at practical completion. Empiric are an internally managed UK REIT investing in modern, premium student accommodation located in prime central locations in top university towns and cities in the UK.
Research by JLL earlier this month found there is likely to be a shortfall of 25,000 student beds this year following Chancellor George Osborne’s decision to remove the cap on student numbers.
Rory Chichester, Managing Director at Titan said: This project sees us furthering our student project pipeline within key locations in the UK and we are very pleased to be working with HAAS Group and ESP. We look forward to establishing a successful working relationship with both of these important customers.”
Owain Thomas, Director of Haas Group comments: "We’re currently growing our land-bank of sites in key regional cities and are looking forward to driving these projects forward over the next 12 months with the potential for further work withTitan."
