Europe’s largest manufacturer of laminates and wood-based decorative panels for the interior design and specification sector has unveiled its biggest-ever portfolio of decors.
The 2017-2019 EGGER Decorative Collection features 297 laminates and 95 MFC decors with matching edging. There are 124 new designs and seven new textures.
With an extensive range of decors and textures in multiple materials, the collection sees the introduction of product innovations such as new PerfectSense Matt laminates with a smooth, velvety surface and anti-fingerprint properties.
And although best-known for its ultra-realistic woodgrains, there are now over 90 unicolours in EGGER’s laminate range.
Right across the product range, unicolours are becoming a dominant force in interiors. Neutral decors, such as white and increasingly grey, in both cool or warmer tones, are widely represented – with new on-trend blue tones now available in a range of shades.
There are also a number of new muted decors, new brights, and additions in the orange-brown and violet-pink spectrum. A selection of nine style worlds, such as Handcrafted and Living Nature, have been created to provide inspiration for decor combinations and highlight the new finishes. The Nordic style world features new white-washed woods, and combination metallic and a linen finish.
All 297 finishes have been placed into a 9-Grid format to give help and guidance in the selection process. By grouping colour tones and wood species in sets of 9, every colour can be easily viewed and comparisons made.
An added benefit to the full laminate collection being held in stock worldwide is that this service will provide confidence for international roll outs. In addition, 90 door laminate finishes are also held in stock.
Another highlight of the new range is an expanded choice of 24 Feelwood decors, with industry-leading deep textures and synchronised-pore finishes across all of its laminate, compact laminate, worktop, MDF and melamine-faced chipboard products.
With premium Feelwood decors, the pattern perfectly-matches the texture to produce incredibly-lifelike woodgrain reproductions that are tactile and visually indistinguishable from the real thing.
This is clearly demonstrated in two new Structure 38 synchronised-pore finishes H3403 ST38 White Mountain Larch and H3406 ST38 Anthracite Mountain Larch – and a new complementary three layer edging that can wrap around all four sides adding even more intrinsic value.
As well as updating the appeal of traditional woodgrains by bringing new life to classic species, EGGER has introduced both dark exotic woodgrains in new colours as well as Nordic-inspired light and whitewashed timbers. When used in combination with grey or blue unicolours these perfectly capture the popular Scandi vibe
Another high-end, trend-driven look comes from the expanded PerfectSense range of 18 matt and gloss boards, featuring a super smooth core of MDF. These new premium finishes offer something a little different – from the soft, silkiness of matt to the extreme opposite, yet equally luxurious, gloss.
For airport, retail, hotel and hospital applications, EGGER’s Euroclass B fire-retardant Flammex board is now held in stock in the UK, shortening lead times and improving availability.
In line with EGGER’s ‘everything from a single source’ mantra, significant investment has been made in accessories such as edging.
PerfectSense edging now comes in 1mm ABS or 1.3mm PMMA, whilst matching the MFC finishes is a 0.8 or 2mm ABS option. The company is promoting the use of contrast edging, with 13 new ‘accent edges’ being used as a design feature – and a multiplex edge, with a black core, giving a plywood effect that is increasingly popular in commercial environments.
Edging is specifically matched in terms of design, texture and gloss level. In addition to being available in a variety of thicknesses and width from stock, a new cut-to-width edging service has been introduced.
EGGER UK’s Head of Decor Development, Elliott Fairlie, said: “We have listened long and hard to what customers are telling us they want and have addressed the needs of architects, interior designers and fabricators with our biggest-ever range and a host of service improvements.
“We have captured the latest design ideas from across Europe with woodgrain, unicolour, textile, metallic, concrete and ceramic decor effects – all designed to work individually or in combination.
“Through listening to our customers, we have refined our product range to make it even more user-friendly. We have moved from a five year collection to three years, more products are available from stock and making half packs of our premium MFC or single sheets of laminate available at no extra charge encourages creativity.
“We have also completely rebuilt our website with a number of new features, launched an EGGER Collection App for iOS and Android and are using channels such as Pinterest, or our own Trendcast videos on the website and YouTube, to help customers come up with innovative ways of using some of our extensive range of new decors.”
